Kathleen Ryan is a founding partner of Ryan, Ryan & Viglione with over three decades of litigation experience handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases, including conducting over 50 jury trials. She concentrates her practice on representing victims of catastrophic personal injuries, medical negligence, wrongful death, and product liability negligence.
Kathleen is AV “Preeminent” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the organization’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. She is also AV “Preeminent” rated by Martindale-Hubbell’s bar register of women lawyers, was awarded the National Association of Professional Women, Woman of the Year Award (2012) for excellence and dedication to her profession, and was awarded the Humanitarian Award (2013) by the Lake County Bar Association.

$2,520,000.00 motor vehicle accident recovery for male victim of an automobile collision in Lake County, Illinois;
$1,625,000.00 medical negligence recovery for female victim of surgical malpractice resulting in loss of use of one arm;
$975,000.00 premises liability, wrongful death recovery for the estate of a 71 year old man who died from injuries sustained due to a fall down in a negligently designed, snow and ice covered handicapped parking space;
$600,000.00 premises liability recovery for a woman who suffered a fall down due to a negligently designed handicapped parking space;
$325,000.00 premises liability recovery for a woman who slipped on negligently maintained mat at the grocery store.
Kathleen is also a registered nurse who formerly practiced at Columbus Hospital and Illinois Masonic Medical Center in the areas of neurosurgery, general surgery, and general medicine. Her nursing education and training make her uniquely qualified to analyze, litigate, and negotiate medical negligence and other personal injury claims on behalf of her clients.
